I actually was led to this from one of my free book sites on an amazon freebie day, although it is available on kindle unlimited.I used to be a computer tech, and I actually have a wordpress account, and I messed with it for a while trying to get various plug ins and addons and whatever else, but not for anything more than out of curiosity. If you run some type of business from there, buying or selling or whatever else whatever type of merchandise or goods, this book would probably help you, but only to a certain extent. Wordpress is not the easiest or best interface to work with, in my never humble opinion, based on the fact that most do not have the computer skills or enough of those that seem necessary and also because I do have computer skills, a LOT, and found it almost impossible to find the items {add ons, plug in, etcetera} I needed, and I just wanted to use it for blogging basically.
However, having said that, at least the book was more or less correct, except in that it is not as easy as was claimed to find the right tools, although again I don't use the site for commerce of any type. There were a few times caught myself thinking hmmmm I don't think so, and was enough that gave it a 3 instead of 5 due to clarity and other issues. Worth a look if you are thinking about doing something such as using it for commerce of some type, if nothing else to give you an idea if maybe you would be over your head, need assistance, or whatever else. It is not in depth enough in some places that one would expect with a beginner's book though.

Learn WordPress Beginner Visual Guide Elias Ericson eBook Reviews
This book really covers a lot of ground, from the bare basics of WordPress to such complex subjects as using programming languages to supplement the functionality of WordPress, but the book doesn't really cover any of them in much depth. I think beginners would probably want more detail about the basics of WordPress, and advanced users who want to customize WordPress won't get very far with the tips provided here. English is obviously not the author's first language and parts of the book are pretty hard to follow. Parts are fairly repetitious and it's hard to avoid rolling your eyes at the zillions of subjects and verbs that don't agree. On the positive side, there are recommendations of some specific themes and plugins that look helpful. An editor would be really helpful here.
There are a lot of books out there on learning WordPress already, but as everything gets updated, we always need to get a grasp of the new information and technology. This book covers it all and goes into detail about how to get setup with a domain and gives advice on which web hosting companies to choose. It also explains how plugins and themes are integrated into a site and how to get the best performance while using them. WordPress is cool and so is the book; I recommend it.
Excellently done in plain English.
Probably good on a full screen, like a desktop. In a kindle device, it is hopeless. The pictures can not be seen properly and the captions sometimes don't match. without the pictures, it does not work.
If you are going to read it on a large screen it may be OK. I garbage canned it as being useless.
This book is very descriptive and visual for a novice. I was impressed with all of the colored visuals in the book. It is very easy to follow to set up a website. I have every intention to use the step-by-step directions to set up my website next month. Additional resources for plugins are given at the end of the book.
